Bray Mattheson
Author biography
Bray is a surfer, chef, English language teacher, and writer of strange, unsettling fiction. He grew up on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia, and is a graduate of The Writers’ Studio, a program known for helping launch many acclaimed Australian novelists and screenwriters.
His life and work have taken him around the world, from fishing for piranha in the alligator-filled waterways of the Pantanal, to hunting rare carnivorous plants in the jungles of Borneo, diving for pearls in the Tuamotus, and learning to cook alongside matriarchs in rural Cambodia. He once crossed the Pacific by sail, island-hopping through Polynesia—an experience that continues to shape his worldview and his writing.
