Diego Cano Leyva

Author biography

Born in Rancho Mirage, California, and raised between Las Vegas and the mountains of Durango, Mexico, I grew up with one foot in two very different worlds. My brother and I spent our childhood exploring the wild terrain of Mexico, our imaginations turning every hike into an epic adventure. In contrast, life in Las Vegas was quieter, sparking a deep love for video games and storytelling. Even as a kid, I was always creating—though back then, my stories were as simple as, “Bryan helped me beat the boss. The end.”

After high school, I served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS John C. Stennis as an Aviation Boatswain’s Mate. Life at sea gave me the chance to see the world and gather memories that still shape my writing today.

Now a father of two, I’m focused on becoming a better version of myself—one step at a time—while continuing to chase the stories that first sparked my imagination.
