Eliot Applestein
Author biography
Eliot Applestein is a former High School AP Psychology teacher who taught his students the parts of the brain by dissecting a cabbage. He was honored at the White House during the Clinton Administration. As a consultant to the American Psychological Association's international museum exhibition "Understand Ourselves, Understanding Each Other" he helped design hands-on exhibits. He was president of Best Four Years, a college counseling business for 20 years. He has written about higher education for "The Washington Post." He is co-author, with Marta Vogel, of "Painting With Dog," a tom-com. He loves the outdoors and has hiked the back-country of Yosemite National Park, the Trinity Alps of Northern California, Lasson Volcanic National Park, and portions of the Appalachian Trail. When not in the great outdoors, he plays piano and accordion.
