Biography
Gerry Eugene sprang to birth in 1955. He grew up on a Midwest horse farm. At U. of Iowa, he studied fiction and poetry writing with best-selling novelist John Irving and Nobel laureate Louise Glück, ands he holds three graduate degrees in Communication Research, Creative Writing, and Literature. Eugene has publishes poems, stories, lyrical narratives, and scholarly articles. He has lived and taught in Anchorage, Spokane, and other locations in the Pacific NW. He collects Abyssinians, motorcycles, hybrid tea roses, teapots, revolvers, and fountain pens. Gerry Eugene has worked as an international tea merchant, chef, professor, farmhand, and forklift operator. Gerry Eugene has traveled widely in South America, Canada, Alaska, the Aleutians, Malaysia, PRC, Mexico, Hong Kong, Central America, and Singapore. With his partner of twenty-three years, Gerry Eugene lives where the desert meets mountains. Two Abyssinian cats compete for control of his life. Every chance he gets, he walks along the river and watches ospreys.
