Julia Sutton
Author Julia Sutton
Biography
From a young age Julia Sutton has loved creative writing. She has written poetry, children’s stories and most recently women’s contemporary fiction. The School of Dreams is the first novel in a planned series of books and has taken just under a year to complete. Julia spent her evenings and weekends working on her novel, scribbling in notebooks and tapping away on her computer. She was overjoyed to finish it, and ecstatic to be offered a publishing contract with Creativia. She received the contract on her 44th birthday and celebrated with a bottle of bubbly.
By day, Julia works in a primary school, surrounded by lovely staff and children. When she is not chasing around the playground, she is walking her dog, listening to music, spending time with her family and writing. Writing stories is her passion and she finds great fulfilment in expressing herself through the written word. She finds inspiration occurs during everyday activities; relaxing on a Sunday morning, strolling through the park on a warm, sunny day, overhearing titbits of a conversation while waiting in a busy shop. Her house is full of notes, the scattered ideas that appear at the most impromptu moments and must be recorded before they are forgotten.
One of Julia’s favourite hobbies is reading, she loves immersing herself in fictional worlds and enjoys reading a wide range of literature. In 2005 she achieved a lifelong ambition of completing an English degree at the University of Wolverhampton, where she was able to indulge her passion for books and also meet a group of lovely people, some of which have become lifelong friends. It was this time at university, which Julia utilised as inspiration for her novel The School of Dreams. The idea of a group of strangers meeting at university took hold and she thought it would make an interesting storyline to explore their lives, dreams and aspirations.
Her plans for the future are to complete the second book of The School of Dreams series. At the moment she is researching and planning out ideas for the storyline. She has also started writing a series of children’s books which she would like to finish.
Julia was raised in Wolverhampton, England and happily still lives there with her husband and two children. She loves travelling abroad, but is always glad to be back home with her friends and family.
