Mike Lewis
Author biography
Mike Lewis is from Cardigan, west Wales, where his family farmed for genera-tions.
Having joined a local paper straight from school, he worked on a number of national titles in London, including The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph.
A lifelong pop music fan, in the 1990s he co-authored biographies on Scott Walker and Syd Barrett.
Mike later worked as The Sunday Telegraph boxing correspondent.
It was while working on the County Echo in Fishguard that he stumbled across the story of Will James, the Dinas Cross farmer’s son who in 1876 was the on-ly Welshman to fight at Custer’s Last Stand.
His debut novel ‘If God Will Spare My Life…’ (Victorina Press, 2021) is based on James’s story.
‘The Icarus Ascent: Ghosts of the Matterhorn’ is his second novel.
