Author Phil Price
Biography
Phil Price first toyed with the idea of writing back in 2009, when he had the whiff of an idea, regarding abductions. Married in 2010, he took the thread of an idea with him on honeymoon, where it started to develop as the Indian Ocean lapped at his feet. In between the birth of his sons, Phil began crafting Unknown, the first book of The Forsaken Series, where vampires come through secret doorways to snatch a select few, who are different from the rest of humanity. They have rare type of blood, which a far-away king craves. A vampire king. Once Phil had finished Unknown, he left it on his PC, unsure of what to do with it, until a chance conversation with a friend gave him the courage to publish it.
Soon afterwards, Phil embarked on the second book in the series, The Turning, where the scattered vampires try to exact revenge on their human enemies by abducting their loved ones. Set in Middle England and Cornwall, it pits good against evil, with the odds stacked against the protagonist, Jake Stevenson. Only his determination to save his family drives him forward, using old friends to help him in his battle with the dark forces pitted against him.
When, The Turning came to its conclusion, Phil realised that the final chapter of the series needed to be told. And so was born, The Witch & The Watcher. Turning slightly away from vampires as the main enemy, the third book introduces Lenga, an ancient witch hellbent on revenge and chaos. Not content with hunting for human heads in her own world, she stumbles into ours, focusing her evil on a young boy, called Jasper, who isn’t quite the sunny eight-year-old that his family thinks he is. He’s a traveller, able to use astral projection to skip between dimensions. However, doing so has alerted Lenga, who now has him in her sights. Will he evade her advances? Or will others come to his aid? Skipping from The Lickey Hills, to a far-off world, The Witch & The Watcher will take you to places beyond your imagination…
Will this be the conclusion of the series? Only Phil can tell you that…
Wanting to expand his horizons, Phil’s latest offering takes his readers to the far side of the universe. Zoo, tells the story of the abduction of an entire village. A small sleepy village, called Belbroughton. The inhabitants are whisked away, 13,000,000,000 light years to a distant planet called Valkash. There, they are to live out their lives in a replica village to the one they called home, whilst alien civilisations from across the cosmos, view them like we would watch animals at the Zoo. Can the displaced villagers find a way home? Can their loved ones back on Earth figure out what happened to them? Can they save them? You’ll just have to find out for yourselves…
Aside from writing, Phil lives in a sleep town in Worcestershire, UK with his wife and two sons, happily playing dad and husband in almost equal measure. Phil’s day job could not be more different from his writing. He works in health and safety, keeping people healthy and safe. What he does in his books, could not be any more different…
