Robert A. Adamcik

Mr. Robert A. Adamcik was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated with a degree in History from The Ohio State University in 1989. Upon graduation, he was commissioned an Ensign in the United States Navy and served for 20 years as a Surface Warfare Officer, serving on six ships during the course of Operations Desert Storm, Southern Watch, Stabilise, Enduring Freedom, and Iraqi Freedom. He retired from the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander in 2009, but still serves on board a ship as a volunteer tour guide at the Battleship Wisconsin Museum. He resides in Norfolk, Virginia with his wife Kate and their several dogs and cats.

What inspired you to start writing?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I spent a lot of the extra time on my hands reading espionage/military/action thrillers. I thought "Maybe I should try writing one," so I did.

Who are some of your favorite authors and books?

Ian Fleming's THUNDERBALL, Andrew Warren's RED PHONEIX, Brian Drake's Scott Stiletto and Steve Drake series, Barry Eisler's THE KILLER COLLECTIVE, Mark Greaney' Grey Man series.

What would you like to tell readers who have just discovered your books, but haven't read one yet?

Who is the favorite character you created, and how did they come into being?

Lieutenant Commander James Robert "Bob" Morgan, call sign: Gargoyle. He's a lot like me, a history guy, Navy officer, Ohio State University alum, leader, introvert, and a punster. The only difference is that he's younger and in way better physical shape.
