Trusting Instinct in Caprice

A holiday gathering becomes dangerous in Lorelei Bell's Caprice when a disguised demon attacks Sabrina. The Dark World has placed a bounty on her, and disgraced vampire Bjorn Tremayne uses the confusion to escape with her. The interruption turns a familiar social occasion into a problem of immediate survival.

An escape that raises new questions

Bjorn has lost his power, but his intentions remain difficult to assess. Leaving the gathering with him puts Sabrina in a new situation while the bounty adds a wider threat. She needs to understand the danger around them without assuming that their temporary proximity makes their purposes identical.

Vasyl and Bill, a Nephilim, pursue them. With several supernatural figures involved, proximity alone cannot tell Sabrina whom to trust. She has to assess people whose purposes may differ, while the danger around her limits the time available to do so.
