The Ninth Precinct

Private investigator Grant Dawson is waiting for a case that will finally pay well. When a small-town mayor offers him a murder investigation with an attractive fee, he accepts readily. The assignment soon becomes much more dangerous than its promising beginning suggests. Faced with a killer’s psychological games, Grant finds both his physical endurance and his judgment under pressure. Solving the crime will demand more than ordinary detective work as the boundaries of acceptable action begin to shift. What began as a welcome professional opportunity becomes a test of how far he can go without losing himself.
