A tiny seed. A mighty storm. An epic battle for the seed world.

Sunny is the smallest seed in Seedtown—a mustard seed with unusually large feet and an even bigger heart. What begins as a simple visit to the Seed Festival takes an unexpected turn when a runaway balloon whisks him away into a storm and into the unknown. Caught mid-air with Beano, a quirky balloonist, Sunny crash-lands in a mysterious land ruled by a tyrannical seed named Enzo.

There, they meet Sandtown—a reclusive scientist with a secret past. Once Enzo's lead inventor, Sandtown created a serum capable of transforming ordinary seeds into super-powered soldiers. But an accidental explosion changed everything, scattering the formula and giving rise to the SeedWhackers: Enzo's elite army. Now, with Sandtown kidnapped and the serum still locked in his memory, the race is on to rescue him before Enzo unlocks the final piece of his plan for total domination.

Together with a ragtag band of misfit seeds, Sunny and Beano form The Seed Gang, determined to repair their balloon, find Sandtown, and stop Enzo before it's too late. Their journey is one of courage, friendship, and standing tall—no matter how small you are.

Excerpt from the book

Harvest Festival

Sunny ran toward popping sounds coming from a game booth. The red, green, and yellow balloons attached to a white board were not as visual as the sun casting a shadow of two enormous feet, unusual for a mustard seed. As he got closer, the crowd looked down at the multicolored shoes. They started laughing. They thought to themselves, “How could a little seed have such enormous feet?”

This was one reason Sunny avoided large gatherings. Though the harvest festival was the biggest event in Seedtown every year, he wasn’t expecting the biggest event would be his feet. He hoped it would be different this time.

He didn’t want to come, but his parents had insisted. Being an only child, Sunny had no siblings to encourage or pattern his life in a sometimes cruel world. His parents tried to help him fit in with society with his unusually gigantic feet. They even took him to doctors and specialists with no success.

They recalled him as a baby, when lying on his back, his feet raised his blankets from his body, forming a tepee. Another blanket was used to keep him warm.

As his parents looked on, they stayed back as their son stood at the game booth. A giant green speckled watermelon seed stepped on one of his feet and shouted, “Get out of my way, you runt!”

Sunny took a step back, trying not to step on someone else’s feet. “Sorry, mister.”

His parents wanted to come to his rescue, as the crowd near the dart-throwing booth continued to point and laugh at Sunny’s feet.

Another seed noticed and said, “Hey everybody! Check this little guy! His feet are taller than he is!”

Sunny looked away until a loud popping sound from a dart hitting a red balloon thrust him high above the booth. It was the first time Sunny experienced such a strange reaction. Even his parents opened their mouths in awe.

One seed hollered, “Did you see that?”

Another asked, “Could he be a superhero?”

Sunny’s right foot landed on a pumpkin seed standing next to him. “He isn’t a superhero! More like a klutz!” He yelled, “Get off my foot, clown feet!”

Sunny walked away from the dart booth, hanging his head. Every step he took, he heard, “You’re a klutz, clown feet.” Nothing changed. He walked toward home.

His mother couldn’t hold back her tears. She darted toward him, wanting to cuddle him like when he was a baby. Sunny’s father ran and grabbed her by her right arm and said, “No! Let him go! He needs to work this out himself.”

On his way out, Sunny passed the dunk tank. Someone shouted, “Hey Sunny!” It was Uncle Scorch. His parents gave him that name because he fell asleep in the sunlight, and it scorched his yellow-wheat skin to a bright red.

Scorch yelled at the corn seed, “Hey rubber arm, let’s see you hit the target!”

As he stood in front of the booth, he wound up and threw a ball which hit the round, red target, plunging Scorch into the water tank. The corn seed laughed and said, “I still have two more balls.”

After he popped up and got back on his seat, he put both hands to his ears, trying to pump water out, and said, “Hey friend, I need to take a break and talk to my nephew standing next to you. You can come back later.”
