The Soul of Rock-n-Roll
A rock star’s soul-selling contract was supposed to be non-negotiable. Slider Wilde is about to find out whether love can change the terms.
As the sexy, self-absorbed frontman of Wild Child, Slider has fame, fans, and no shortage of women willing to fall into bed with him. Alongside bandmates Roye, Damien, and Dex, he has ridden the wild highs of success—but is their rise built on talent alone, or on something darker from their youth?
When bestselling author Daryn Solstice enters his life, Slider expects a legal fight over a character he believes was based on him. Instead, their sharp-edged encounters shift into friendship, desire, and a connection neither of them can easily dismiss. But with an ex determined to destroy him, band tensions growing, and otherworldly forces closing in, Slider must face the consequences of the choices that made him famous.

Excerpt from the book
At 9:45 a.m., attractive Seven Sinclare tittuped into the fifth-floor London-based agency like a beauty pageant contestant modeling a luxurious evening gown down the requisite catwalk. Her silky bamboo-print jumpsuit clung to, and accentuated, her shapely frame. “Daryn, dear, I am so sorry. Peter’s podcast went overtime.” Bow-shaped lips sporting lipstick the color of dragon-fruit skin blew a kiss. “Come!” A toned latte-colored arm gestured a short hallway leading to the offices of the four agents of the Homburg & Bowler Literary Agency, situated on Millbank Street in Westminster.
A few years older and equally attractive, Daryn Solstice hooked an elbow around Seven’s, and they strolled to the last office. Daryn had been a client since just before Seven joined the team eighteen months ago. Her original agent, Ben Longsteen of Faere & Welles Literarily Inc., had transferred to the New York branch when his partner had accepted a position as Associate Research Scientist at Columbia. It had served as the perfect opportunity to move onto a new agency and offer a novice a chance to wet her feet. Daryn and Ben had remained in touch, meeting whenever Daryn stayed at her New York condo two-three times a year. When she wasn’t on the northeastern U.S. coast, she could be found in her cozy London condo or snug Paris flat.
“What did you think of Robson Wilde’s text?” Seven placed her large appliquéd Prada bag on a garnet-red two-seater before a tall window overlooking the River Thames.
“The same thing I did when I received Slider Wilde’s initial one, his publicist’s, his manager’s, and everyone else he’s involved,” Daryn stated drily, dropping her slim athletic body into one of two matching armchairs before the elegant, curved desk. “Mr. Wilde’s merely attempting to elicit a confirmation that I did indeed use him as the role model for my protagonist. And did not give appropriate credit. Or disclosure. He’s out of luck. So is Robson Wilde, who I’ve no doubt will take it as far as he can; he is an accomplished barrister.”
“More accomplished than Slider. He’s handled several media-heavy cases.” Seven slipped into the armchair beside Daryn. “But Slider and Wild Child have had positive press since they officially formed eleven years ago. They’re often in the media and perform regularly. It’s merely a matter of time before the band becomes popular enough to pack Wembley. Then he’ll prove the more accomplished one.”
Daryn chuckled. “Imagine the guy actually being able to read, never mind having the time to pick up a book with all that touring and hobnobbing.”
“Oo-ooh, the kittycat’s showing her claws.”
Daryn chuckled again, then sighed. “He’s just pissing me off. He reads Rydin’ High and believes he’s Ryder, the main character. Is that an ego thing? A desire to make some quick and easy money? Or a yearning to garner lots of publicity?”
