Dick DeWitt Mysteries Collection

This volume gathers Robert Muccigrosso’s three Dick DeWitt mysteries, following a private detective whose confidence often exceeds his competence. In The Black Llama Caper, Depression-era DeWitt takes on a dangerous criminal and his gang. The Hollywood Starlet Caper sends him into a tangle involving a young actress, an unscrupulous movie agent, and a corrupt policeman. In The Spycatcher Caper, his troubles expand when military service during the Second World War brings an assignment to uncover enemy agents on the West Coast. The collection mixes crime-noir situations with an inept investigator’s attempts to keep the cases—and himself—from falling apart.
