The Severed Empire

The Rye Empire has fallen, but its long persecution of magic has left a dangerous legacy. The Mountain King intends to find the lost talismans, bring back the wizards, and turn their power to his own ends. With an enslaved sorceress forced to serve him, his search is already underway. Seventeen-year-old Mykal and his friends set out to reach the talismans first. Far from the life he knows, the farm boy must confront unfamiliar dangers and truths he has never had reason to question.
