Dick Rosano

Dick Rosano’s columns have appeared for many years in The Washington Post and other national publications. What inspired you to start writing?

Years of travel and experience, plus a relentless curiosity about the world, left me with no excuse but to translate and communicate those experiences to people who may be interested in reading about it.

Who are some of your favorite authors and books?

James A. Mitchener is foremost in my mind for historical fiction, as is Dan Brown for investigative fiction.

What would you like to tell readers who have just discovered your books, but haven't read one yet?

My books combine travel, food, wine, and intrigue.

Who is the favorite character you created, and how did they come into being?

Darren Priest is a former U.S. intelligence expert who is constantly called back to duty to assist in solving mysteries abroad as well as in the U.S.

What are your future plans as a writer?

Darren Priest will continue to appear in my books, next up the sequel to The Paletti Notebook.
