Excerpt from the book
This is the tale of a boy and a girl
Who wanted to put on a show for the world.
The world had been sad, had suffered that year
People were nervous and living in fear.
The boy and the girl quickly made up their mind
That music was needed for all humankind.
“A show will bring happiness, smiles and fun
And help to bring people together as one.”
They wanted great dancers and all they could do
Drummers and singers and acrobats too.
But where would they find people willing to give
Their talents and skilfulness? Where did they live?
The girl, named Amalia, thought for a while
Then suddenly jumped off her chair with a smile.
She remembered the trip that she took with her Mum
And the children she met in an African slum.
“It’s time to have courage, so let’s take a chance
We’ll show everybody that these kids can dance.
This is more than a concert, more than a show
It’s sending out joy to the world in one go!”
Her brother named Marley, the coolest young man
Realised his sister had hit on a plan.
“Le’s live stream the concert, so everyone knows
That where there is music, much happiness grows”.
The children sat down and they drew up a list
Of all they would need and the things they would wish.
But soon it was clear that this concert would cost
A mountain of money - they’d need lots and lots.
So Marley decided to raise loads of cash
By selling cool t-shirts and key rings and caps.
He made his own podcasts, designed his own clothes
