A vagabond child dragged back and forth across these United States, I've experienced much of what there is over the horizon line. Born in Tennessee, high school in Alaska on to graduating from the University of Oregon with a degree in advertising. I have been an avid reader and watcher of film my entire life and began writing screenplays two decades ago hoping to see my work on the big screen. A few years ago I accepted the challenge to write a novel and the southern gothic Chameleon sprung forth. A truck driver epic The Alternator followed close behind. The muses currently guide my dutiful hand as I write my third. I live on the edge of Oak Ridge, TN enjoying hiking, fishing and listening to vinyl.

IN THE AUTHOR’S WORDS

Author interview

Interview submitted .

What inspired you to start writing?

I was always in awe of the great novelists who created worlds and stories that transported the mind to their particular madness. While intimidated, I started writing screenplays and eventually tackled my first novel.

Who are some of your favorite authors and books?

Some of my favorites are Bret Easton Ellis, Irvine Welsh, David Foster Wallace, John Irving, John Updike, and of course Cormac McCarthy.

What would you like to tell readers who have just discovered your books, but haven't read one yet?

Enjoy! Dive in with an open mind and let the characters relate their reality to you.

Who is the favorite character you created, and how did they come into being?

In my latest novel there is a simple seller of fowl who becomes an agent for the Republic of California. I started experimenting with deprivation tanks and I incorporated that into his training.

What are your future plans as a writer?

I just wrote what I felt to be my epic so I am taking a break to see what inspires me to start typing again.
