Kathi Rivers Shannon

Kathi Rivers Shannon

Author biography

The Cascade Mountains and the sage steppe of Eastern Washington in the Pacific Northwest, and the people who live there, shape the writing of Kathi Rivers Shannon.

For nearly forty years, she and her husband, Greg Shannon, a photographer, visited the now-famous Enchantment Lakes every October. From this developed her memoir, When the Larch Turn Gold, which includes a thread of experiencing debilitating ME/CFS (myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome). Her fiction and nonfiction appear in numerous publications.

Kathi has spent most of her life in North Central Washington and now lives in Washougal, Washington. She and Greg continue their journeys in the mountains and high deserts, collecting stories along the way, both real life and in their imaginations.
