Biography

Jonathan D. Rosen is the author of The Cartel Lawyer. His crime novels build on his academic background and experience. Currently, he is a professor in New Jersey. Jonathan earned his Master’s in political science from Columbia University and received his Ph.D. from the University of Miami. He has worked as a researcher and professor at universities in Miami, Philadelphia, and Oaxaca, Mexico. Jonathan has also served as a country conditions expert in immigration court more than 125 times. He has published twenty books on drug trafficking, organized crime, gangs, and violence with the University Press of Florida, the State University Press of New York (SUNY) Press, Palgrave Macmillan, Routledge, and Lexington Books. Finally, he has particípated in research studies in Colombia, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. In 2017, Jonathan and his colleagues at Florida International University interviewed and surveyed nearly 1,200 active and former gang members in El Salvador.
