Diana Rubino

My passion for history has taken me to every setting of my historicals. The "Yorkist Saga" and two time travels are set in England. My contemporary fantasy "Fakin' It", set in Manhattan, won a Romantic Times Top Pick award. My Italian vampire romance "A Bloody Good Cruise" is set on a cruise ship in the Mediterranean.

When I'm not writing, I'm running my engineering business, CostPro Inc., with my husband Chris. I'm a golfer, racquetballer, work out with weights, enjoy bicycling and playing my piano.

I spend as much time as possible just livin' the dream on my beloved Cape Cod.

What inspired you to start writing?

It's a creative outlet for me, and I am able to connect with fascinating historical figures who made a difference in the world.

Who are some of your favorite authors and books?

Anything by mystery author EdMcBain,
Philippa Gregory, or John Grisham,
any books about American history or British history.

What would you like to tell readers who have just discovered your books, but haven't read one yet?

I want my readers to get lost on journeys through history and meet folks who shook things up.

Who is the favorite character you created, and how did they come into being?

My favorite character is Amethyst Plantagenet from TO LOVE A KING, because she's a kind and selfless woman who devotes her life to the man she loves like no other, King Henry VIII.

What are your future plans as a writer?

I want to continue writing biographical novels about strong women and men who, whether household names or not, made a difference.
